Climate Action Week 2020

Realizing that 1,677 pieces of denim equate to nearly one ton in the landfills, the BHS Climate Action Team wanted to be apart of the effort to divert denim and textiles from the landfills by participating in a community-wide denim donation sponsored by Levi's. In two weeks, the Beachwood community donated over 430 pairs of jeans! These jeans will be used to create insulation for building products for libraries, hospitals, and schools.

On Sunday, October 13, 2019 the Beachwood High School Climate Action Team partnered with the PTO to host the inaugural Beachwood Color Run. Nearly 350 students, parents, community members, and staff participated in the 5k or 1 mile run/walk. The generosity and support of the community allowed us to raise more than $13,000 for the PTO, Nature Conservancy, and Cleveland Climate Action Fund.
